Badaun, 19 October (Hindustan Reporter). The accused, who attempted to rape and murder a seven-year-old girl in Bilsi police station area, was encountered by the police and arrested at around 4 am on Saturday morning on the road leading to Binpur village. During the encounter, a constable was also injured in the firing by the killer. Police have recovered the pistol and cartridges from the murderer arrested in the encounter. The injured murderer and constable have been admitted to the hospital.
Actually, a seven year old girl living in Bilsi police station area had gone to the market to buy vegetables from home at around 4 o’clock on Friday. When the girl did not return home even after a long time, the family members started searching for her. Even after a lot of searching nothing was found about him. The blood-soaked body of a missing girl was found in a ruined house in the locality at around 9 pm on Friday night. After which the family members filed a case against unknown persons alleging attempted rape and murder. The police registered a case and sent the girl’s body for post-mortem and started searching for the perpetrators of the incident.
In the police investigation, a few hours after the incident, with the help of CCTV cameras, the accused was identified as Jaanealam son Riyazuddin alias Riyaz, resident of Mohalla number 3 of the town. After which the police raided many places to arrest him. Meanwhile, the accused Jaanelam was seen en route from Bilsi to Binpur. The police team tried to stop him but as soon as he saw the police team, he opened fire. In which constable Manoj Kumar got injured. The police also retaliated on the murderer Jaanelam, in which he was shot in the leg and arrested in an injured condition. Police recovered a pistol and cartridges from his possession.
SSP Dr. Brajesh Singh said that the arrested murderer Jaanealam told the police that he had lured the girl and taken her to a ruined house. Where he tried to rape her. When the girl protested and raised an alarm, he committed murder by crushing her with a brick. After committing the crime, he started running away from the district, but was caught during an encounter in the police cordon.
