Auto ride became expensive in Bengaluru

Auto rickshaw rides in Bengaluru have become expensive. The Bengaluru Urban District Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the structure of the revised fare for auto rickshaws. New fares will be applicable in Bengaluru from August 1. According to the notification issued by the Authority, the revised auto rickshaw fare will be applicable only within the boundary of Brihad Bangalore Metropolitan Municipality (BBMP). Explain that the minimum fare of auto rickshaw for the first 2 kilometers has been increased from Rs 30 to Rs 36. The fare for each additional kilometers has increased from Rs 15 to Rs 18. Between 10 am and 5 pm, a 50 percent night surcharge of regular fare will be applicable.

How much rent increased?

The authority also said that the auto meters should be re -verified and seal by October 31 and the revised fare should be displayed on the meters. No waiting charges will be charged from passengers for five minutes. After that, a fee of Rs 10 will be charged for waiting time of every 15 minutes. Apart from this, goods up to 20 kg can be transported free of cost. When carrying more luggage from this limit, a fee of Rs 10 will be charged for each additional 20 kg or any part of it. Along with this, a maximum of 50 kg of limited items can be taken in any auto.

Auto union was demanding for a long time

Let us know that the auto union in Bengaluru was demanding an increase in fares for a long time. Their demand was that the minimum fare should be up to Rs 40 and per km to Rs 20. In this case, the Congress government of the state has increased the minimum fare by Rs 36 keeping in mind the demand of the union. According to the information, auto fares have been increased only 2 times in Bengaluru in the last 11 years. Earlier in November 2021, auto fares were increased. Let us know that after this decision of the government, auto drivers are now feeling relieved. However, the public will now have to loose their pockets more.
