Baleshwar: An incident has come to light from Baleshwar district of Odisha, which shook the entire city. A student of Fakir Mohan College set herself on fire in the college campus. It is being told that he took this step due to a long -standing harassment by a college teacher. The entire incident is also captured in the CCTV camera installed outside the college, in which the girl is seen running away from pain after burning. The college principal Dilip Kumar Ghosh has been suspended in this case.
Accused of physical and mental exploitation
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in the FM College campus. The student studies in the second year of the Integrated B.Ed program. The student has accused Sameer Kumar Sahu of the Integrated B.Ed Department of the college of physical and mental exploitation. The student had complained about this harassment several times, but was ignored.
The student was sitting on a dharna, the steps taken for not hearing
The student had complained to the college administration several times before. He also protested in protest, but no action was taken. Not only this, the girl was also sitting on a dharna at the college gate for a few days. According to eyewitnesses, the girl came alone outside the college during the incident. He had a kerosene box. Shortly after, he put kerosene on himself and set it on fire. As soon as the flames arose, she started running away screaming in pain.
Student and student seriously scorched
The picture of this heartbreaking incident was captured in a nearby CCTV camera, in which the girl was seen running around in flames. Another student ran to save the student and tried to extinguish the fire. But the fire was so terrible that the student was also severely scorched. Both were immediately rushed to Baleshwar District Hospital by local people. From there both were referred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, as the condition was very critical.

Accused teacher in police custody
Student organizations say that if the complaints of the student had been taken seriously in time, then such a big incident would not have happened. He also questioned why such incidents are happening continuously in educational institutions and why is the administration sitting silent?
As soon as the news of the incident spread, Baleshwar Town Police Station reached the college. He tried to convince the furious students and interacted with the college administration. After this, the police have taken the accused teacher Sameer Kumar Sahu into custody and started questioning.
Principal and teacher suspended
After this incident, accused teacher Sameer Kumar Sahu and college principal Dilip Kumar Ghosh have been suspended. The police have also taken the accused Sameer into custody.
Principal Dilip Kumar Ghosh’s statement revealed
In this case, the principal of the college Dilip Kumar Ghosh said, “I had a complaint on the 30th. The incident started with the examinations of mid beans. We do not allow children who are absent during class class. We are not allowed to sit in the exams. They are given notice but after that they are allowed after doing a few days. Strict steps were taken in this incident. We will debate and after a few days of classes, they would be debated by 9 more girls, including the victim’s girl.
This girl again started being absent in class, so she was stopped from taking the exam again. After that the girl, mentally disturbed her friends, told a lot of things. After that some children came to me on the 30th. That day he told me many things. He told me that the teachers are mentally disturbing him. Along with this, one of them told me that the teacher met him near the garden and he demanded a physical favorite from the girl and said that if she does so, everything will be alright.
The victim was debated with the principal
A committee was formed in this case. The committee had 3 senior teachers. He was accompanied by a non -gadted officer, some student representatives and representatives outside the college were also included in the committee. The committee had sought 15 days time from us, but still a report was prepared by talking to various teachers and students within 7 days. The report was also submitted to me 2 days ago.
Meanwhile, some students started asking us to take action quickly, I said that after seeing the report, a decision will be taken thoughtfully. Today when the victim student came to me. I also explained to him that we will definitely take action in this matter. For about 20 minutes I explained to the student, suddenly she started arguing with me about Sameer’s talk. I started pressurizing me to take action quickly and started saying that I could not wait any longer. Saying this, she left.
