Baba Siddiqui murder case: Mumbai Police makes 16th arrest | Crime News
The arrest was made by Mumbai Crime Branch from Pune. During the course of investigation, the police claimed to have found out that Gaurav had held multiple meetings with other accused to plan the murder.
On October 12, the NCP legislator was shot dead by unidentified outside his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office in Bandra, Mumbai.
With the arrest of one more person, the Mumbai police have apprehended the 16th accused in the murder of former MLA and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. The arrested person has been identified as Gaurav Apune, aged 23, said an official from the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Gaurav was in touch with shooters: Police
According to police, Gaurav was in touch with the first batch of shooters who were initially contracted to carry out Baba Siddiqui’s murder. Citing a police official, a report in India TV said that the accused Apune was trained in the firearm by accused who are currently absconding. Apune was promised good money for his involvement in the murder case.
The crime branch officials said they will soon present the accused in the court. On October 12, the NCP leader was shot dead by unidentified outside his son and MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office in Bandra, Mumbai.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has reportedly taken responsibility for the murder. It is also alleged that Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi is involved in the murder. Anmol is said to be based in United States.
