Bahraich violence accused appeared in court, sent to jail

Bahraich. All the accused in the riot case that took place on October 13 in Maharajganj of Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh appeared at the residence of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) on Friday morning. The accused have been sent to jail for 14 days.

Five accused Mohammad Talib alias Bablu, Mohammad Sarfaraz alias Rinku, Abdul Hameed, his son Faheem and Mohammad Afzal were arrested from Nanpara area on Thursday in connection with the uproar that took place on Sunday in village Maharajganj of Hardi police station area. His appearance was earlier scheduled in the civil court, for which tight security arrangements were made in the court premises.

However, in view of the crowd in the civil court and security reasons, the district administration and the Superintendent of Police talked to the CJM and got all the accused produced at the CJM’s residence. CJM Pratibha Chaudhary’s court appearance took place at Judge Colony located in Pani Tanki of the city, from here she was sent to jail.

Police said that in view of security, tight arrangements were made in the entire area to avoid any untoward incident. Station Head Hardi, Kamal Shankar Chaturvedi said that further remand process will be adopted against these accused.
