There has been a new debate in the five -match Test series between India and England, the debate is on the ball -checking equipment i.e. ‘ball gauge’. Actually, during the Edgbaston Test, the ball was getting worse quickly, but the umpires were not changing it because he was passing the ‘Gol Ring’ test.

Regarding this, England captain Ben Stokes made a big statement before the Lord’s Test to be played from Thursday, July 10. Stokes said at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday, July 9, “I don’t think the ring we are using is made for the Duke ball. Whenever a foreign team comes here, the same problem is about the duke ball, it gets soft quickly or out of shape.”

Stokes further said, “If the ball passes in the gauge, then the same ball has to be used again, otherwise you have to wait until it gets worse.” On this issue, India’s vice-captain Rishabh Pant also raised the sublime at the pre-match press conference. He laughed and said, “The round measuring gauge should be the same for both the duke and the Kukabura. But it would have been better if it was a little smaller, because every ball is doing different behavior. When the ball becomes soft, neither gets swing nor bounce.”

Let us know that Duke Ball is used in England’s domestic Test series, and is usually considered a seam and swing friendly ball. But this time the players have constantly complained that this ball is getting out of shape very quickly, and the investigation gauge is considering it right.
