New Delhi: Popular producer of daily soaps, Ektaa Kapoor is currently under hot water due to her OTT giant ALT Balaji. For those who have missed it, a case was filed against the producer and her mother Shobha Kapoor under the POCSO Act. Notably, the case was registered for allegedly showing inappropriate scenes involving minor girls in an episode of the ALT Balaji’s series Gandi Baat.

While the case is related to season 6 of the web series ‘Gandi Baat’ on ALT Balaji, netizens have finally called for a ban on the app on X (formerly Twitter).

On Tuesday (October 22), X was flooded with tweets by users who demanded a ban on ALT Balaji for showcasing lewd content. Several users have even accused Ektaa Kapoor of picturising the wives of the army having extramarital affairs behind their backs. Meanwhile, others were quick to point out that several shows on ALT Balaji disrespect Hindu sentiments by showing extra-marital affairs among family members and in-laws.

One user took to the micro-blogging site and wrote, “The Hindu Phobic Web Series, Films are nothing but a conspiracy to misdirected our youth which is increasingly being viewed globally as our major national asset on a path of self-distruction.” Another added, “Save Culture Save India Toxic webseries… Hindu phobic webseries, What do these Bollywood people want, they can do nothing but conspire to mislead the youth, who are being seen globally as our major national asset who are on the path of self-destruction.”
