Ban on thugs life in Karnataka, Kamal Haasan knocked on the door of High Court
South actor Kamal Haasan is currently in the news for his upcoming film ‘Thug Life’. Recently, Kamal Haasan said during the film’s audio launch that Kannada language is born from Tamil. Since then, Kamal Haasan is being strongly opposed.
Kannada support organizations had publicly demanded an apology by Kamal Haasan to hurt the sentiments of the Kannada people. Organizations had said that if Kamal Hassan did not apologize, his film will not be allowed to be released in Karnataka.
But despite this, Kamal Haasan refused to apologize. He had said that what I said with love. After this, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) banned the release of Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’.

Now Kamal Haasan has approached the Karnataka High Court against this decision of KFCC. Kamal Haasan’s production house Raj Kamal Films International Chief Executive Officer has appealed to the court to direct the Karnataka Government, Police Department and Film Trade Bodies not to obstruct the release of the film.
The petition also demanded the Director General of Police and the city police commissioner to ensure adequate security arrangements for screening. The petition stated that the actor’s remarks, which aims to show unity and mutual respect between the people of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, was incorrectly taken.
Kamal Haasan’s hands in the film ‘Thug Life’ are going to be seen in important roles. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam. The film is scheduled to release nationwide on 5 June.
