Ban vs Pak 2nd T20 Highlights: Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 8 runs in the second T20 played in Mirpur to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and made history against Pakistan and won their first T20 series against Pakistan. On the basis of batsman Zakir Ali (55 runs) and bowler Shorul Islam (3–17), Bangladesh consisted of 125 after scoring 133 runs. In the second T20 played on Tuesday, July 22 at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 8 runs in a thrilling match. With this victory, Bangladesh took an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match series.
Bangladesh started poorly while batting first and the team lost their 4 wickets for 28 runs in the powerplay itself. Opener Mohammad Naeem (3) and Parvez Imon (13), captain Litton Das (8) and Tauheed Heart (0) were dismissed cheaply. Zakir Ali, who came at number 5, shared a 53 -run partnership with Maheedi Hasan (33 runs, 25 balls). Zakir scored 55 runs in 48 balls with 5 sixes and 1 four. Bangladesh reached 133 runs in 20 overs on the basis of his innings. For Pakistan, Abbas Afridi (2-37) and new ball bowlers Salman Mirza (2–17) and Ahmed Danial (2-23) took 2-2 wickets.
Pakistan started very poorly, chasing the target of 133 runs. Saim Ayub was run out in the first over and the team lost 5 wickets for 17 runs in the powerplay. Shorul Islam and Tanzim Hasan Saqib (2-23) took 4 wickets in the first six overs. There was constant pressure on Pakistan.
Faheem Ashraf tried to handle the team by playing 51 runs (4 fours, 4 sixes) in 32 balls, but was dismissed by Rishad Hussain before the last over. Pakistan was reduced to 125 runs. For Bangladesh, Shorul Islam took 3 wickets, Tanzim and Maheedi took 2-2 wickets.
This victory was historic for Bangladesh, as this is his first T20 series win against Pakistan. Earlier, Bangladesh had played a T20 series against Pakistan four times, but could not win once. With this 2-0 lead, Bangladesh created history and defeated Pakistan for the first time in the bilateral T20 series.
