The terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir has shook the entire country. On April 22, militants fired indiscriminately on tourists in Basaron area, in which 26 people lost their lives and many others were injured. There is a wave of mourning across the country after this painful terrorist attack. Union Home Minister Amit Shah immediately reached Kashmir and took stock of the situation. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to leave his Saudi Arabia in the middle and return home.

BCCI took a big step

This attack has also affected the sports world. BCCI has taken an important decision regarding IPL 2025. In the 41st match of the 18th season of IPL, when Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians are face to face, the players of both teams will tie a black bandage and come to the ground. Neither cheerleaders will perform nor will there be any fireworks in this match. Apart from this, a minute’s silence will be kept to pay tribute to those killed in the terrorist attack before the match starts.

A BCCI source told PTI that the players of both the teams would play a black band and keep a minute’s silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. He said that the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad will not have cheerleaders and no crackers will be boiled.

Outrage over terrorist attack across the country

The responsibility of this terrorist attack in Pahalgam has been taken by Pakistan’s terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba’s colleague ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF). This attack is being condemned on a large scale in the country and abroad. The whole country is angry about this attack and protests are taking place in many cities. Significantly, even after the 2008 Mumbai attacks, India had broken cricket relations with Pakistan. Recently, India refused to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, due to which the ICC had to arrange a neutral venue for the tournament. In the upcoming ICC tournament, both teams will be seen playing on neutral venue.
