A major accident took place on Saturday on Puri-Konark Marine Drive. The car of Cuttack Sadar Block Development Officer Prateek Sahu suddenly fell into the Kushabhadra river in Lotus Park area near Ramchandi Temple. BDO and his wife were present in the car at the time of the accident. According to the information, the incident occurred when Prateek Sahu was trying to park his car on Bela Marg. The car was in reverse gear and slipped and fell straight into the river. Due to the strong current, the car started flowing in the water in a few moments.

Fire department took out both out

At the same time, after the incident, the people present on the spot immediately informed the fire department. From the nearby training center, the fire department team reached there in a few minutes and started the rescue operation. BDO and his wife were safely evacuated with the help of firefighters and locals. Both were immediately rushed to the health center in Konark, where they were discharged after primary treatment. Currently, BDO Prateek Sahu and his wife are safe, but the incident reminds how dangerous negligence in parking a vehicle along the river during the rainy season.

The car was reversed in the river

Actually, the car was reversed after falling into the river. The fire department team took the car out of the water after hours of hard work. The BDO couple were on leave at the time of the accident and planned to stay at the Lotus resort located near the Ramchandi temple. The administration has appealed to take additional precautions while parking the train along the river during the rainy season.
