Actually, there is news that UP Power Corporation in UP has made a proposal in this regard to the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. If it is approved, electricity can be expensive up to 30 percent. According to the news, in the proposal, urban domestic consumer rates may increase by about 35 to 40 percent and rural domestic consumers’ rates 40 to 50 percent.

How much will the cost of per unit increase?

According to the proposal, urban consumers who use electricity with more load will now have to pay electricity bill at Rs 13 per unit. The Regulatory Commission will start hearing in July on this proposal of power corpse, only after which a decision will be taken to increase the price of electricity. At present, consumers who use electricity up to 100 units in Uttar Pradesh have to pay electricity bill at the rate of 5 rupees 50 paise, which will be 6 rupees 50 paise when the proposal passes.

How much has to be paid on the use of more than 300 units?

Those using more than 300 units had to pay Rs 6.50 per unit bill which has been reduced to Rs 9 in the new proposal. Along with this, consumers will also have to pay per kW fixed charge, electricity tax and other tax, after which consumers will have to pay 12 to 13 rupees per unit. Similarly, the electricity rate of up to 100 units in the village is 3 rupees 35 paise per unit, which will be 4 rupees 50 paise after the proposal is passed. People using more than 300 units in villages give Rs 5.50 per unit, which will increase to Rs 8.

Applicable for customers of these companies

According to the proposal, the new rates will be applicable to DVVNL, MVVNL, PVVNL, PUVVNL and Casco. All the bills will be confirmed in the nearest rupee, that is, up to 49 paise will be recharged in the previous rupee and more than 50 paise will be confirmed in the next rupee. The differences caused by this completion will be adjusted to the upcoming bills.
