There was a stampede at Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar on Sunday morning. At least six people have died in this accident. At the same time, 25-30 people are injured, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. According to officials, some people spread rumors near the temple that the current was coming from the wire. This is why there was a stampede. There was a huge crowd in the temple and there was no place to set foot. In such a situation, people passed over each other. This is why six people have died.
This is not the first time that there is a stampede in a temple or religious event. In the last five years, there have been 10 major incidents of stampede at religious places, in which more than 200 people have died.

1 January 2022: On the occasion of New Year, there was a stampede in Mata Vaishno Devi temple due to huge crowd. The accident occurred as the crowd of devotees grew at the narrow entrance. 12 people died and more than a dozen were injured.
20 August 2022: During the Janmashtami festival at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, a stampede -like situation arose due to a huge crowd in the temple. Two people died and seven were injured in the incident.
31 March 2023: On the occasion of Ram Navami in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, during a havan in a temple, the slab over the ancient Bawdi (well) collapsed, causing a stampede. 36 people died in this accident.
24 December 2023: A stampede situation arose from suffocation due to excessive crowd in Banke Bihari temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. 2 women devotees died in this incident.
17 March 2024: A stampede occurred during a religious event before Holi at Shreeji Temple in Mathura. At least 6 devotees fainted in the stampede. It is a matter of honor that no one died in this accident.
25 March 2024: A stampede occurred during a religious ceremony held at the Kottnakulangara temple in Kollam, Kerala. A five -year -old girl died in this.
2 July 2024: A stampede occurred due to a huge crowd in the satsang of Swayambhu Saint Bhole Baba (Narayan Sakar Hari) in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The organizers were allowed for 5,000 people, but more than 15,000 people gathered. Due to the heat and humidity, people were trying to get out, causing the stampede. 121 people died. These included most women and children. Hundreds of people were injured.
12 August 2024: A stampede occurred due to the crowd during the puja on the fourth Monday of the month of Sawan at Baba Siddhnath Temple in Banavar Haroc, Bihar. Seven people died and 10 people were injured in this accident.
29 January 2025: There was a stampede during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, a crowd of millions of devotees gathered for the sacred bath in the Sangam area, due to which there was a stampede. The situation worsened due to mob management and VIP protocol. At least 30 people died and 60 people were injured in this accident.
29 June 2025: During the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri, Odisha, there was a stampede near Nandighosh Rath. Three people died and more than 50 people were injured.
