ICC recently shared a video on its social media handle where Rohit Sharma talked about his emotional connection with the Wankhede Stadium.
The Indian captain said that whatever he is today as a cricketer is because of his learning and all this happened at Wankhede.
He said that Mumbaikars love their cricket and its reflection can be seen at Wankhede Stadium.
Rohit said, Wankhede is a special venue, my best venue. Whatever I am today as a cricketer is because of my learning and it all happened at Wankhede. That’s why no one can defeat it. Mumbaikars love their cricket and you can see the hustle and bustle at Wankhede Stadium, it is madness. There are small stands in the stadium, especially the North Stand, which you know is the most famous stand at Wankhede, the people who come there are true cricket fans.
The Indian team has performed brilliantly in the current tournament. Rohit Sharma’s team is currently on top in the tournament without losing a single match.
Rohit Sharma played a brilliant inning of 87 runs against England, due to which the Indian team could reach the score of 229 runs. After this, Mohammed Shami took four wickets, while Bumrah took three wickets to give India a comfortable win by 100 runs. The Indian captain was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his innings of 87 runs.
