11 deaths occurred due to stampede in RCB celebration

The Karnataka Police has arrested four people in a stampede case in Bengaluru. These include RCB’s marketing head. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s marketing head Nikhil Sall was trying to flee to Mumbai. Karnataka police arrested him from Bangalore Airport. Nikhil was arrested from Camemegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at around 6.30 am. Apart from Nikhil, Sunil Mathew, Kiran and Sumant, members of the event management company DNA Entertainment Private Limited have also been arrested. Sunil holds the post of vice president and handles the IPL program for DNA.

The stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru took place during the celebration after RCB won the first IPL. 11 people died in this. Along with this, more than 60 people are reported injured. However, officials say that the condition of all the injured remains normal. The families of the victims have convicted the authorities for the stampede.

Case registered in many sections

An FIR was lodged under several sections of the Indian Justice Code after the death of 11 people due to stampede during the celebration. A few hours later, four people have been arrested. The allegations made in the FIR also include culpable homicide. According to the FIR, the RCB franchise invited people by announcing the program despite not taking permission from the competent authority. On Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered the arrest of representatives of RCB team, DNA Entertainment Private Limited and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).

Two KSCA officials arrested

Two officials, secretary Shankar and Treasurer Jairam are absconding. Efforts are on to find them. Police said they did not meet in their homes. Police said that the Central Crime Branch led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshay conducted a campaign overnight and arrested the accused. The accused can be assigned to the Crime Investigation Department today. On Thursday, CM Siddaramaiah suspended Bangalore Police Commissioner B Dayanand and several other senior police officers and Margant Kumar Singh has been made the new Police Commissioner.
