Bengaluru stampede: CM Siddaramaiah suspended many including police commissioner
Big action in the Bengaluru stampede case.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken major action in a stampede case during the ceremony held in Bangalore over the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2025 victory. Officers from police inspector to commissioner level have been suspended for the incident. Let us know that 11 people died in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Apart from this, a large number of people were also injured. After the uproar over the incident, the government has now started action.
What did Siddaramaiah say?
Regarding the stampede case in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Thursday evening- “Police Inspector, Station House Master, Station House Officer, ACP, Central Division DCP, Cricket Stadium in-charge, Additional Police Commissioner, Police Commissioner have been suspended with immediate effect.” Siddaramaiah has said that prima facie there has been negligence and irresponsibility from these officials. For this reason, it has been decided to suspend them.

Instructions for arrest of representatives of many others including RCB
CM Siddaramaiah of Karnataka has directed the police to arrest representatives of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), DNA Event Management Agency, Karnataka State Cricket Association. CM Siddaramaiah has further informed that a member commission has been formed under the chairmanship of retired High Court judge Michael Kunha to investigate the stampede incident in Bengaluru. The Commission will submit a report in the matter within 30 days.
Investigation handed over to CID
CM Siddaramaiah further said that such an incident has never happened during my tenure as MLA, Minister, Deputy Chief Minister or Chief Minister. This incident has shocked us a lot. Magistrate investigation has started in the case. At the same time, the investigation against RCB, DNA event management agency, Karnataka State Cricket Association has now been handed over to the CID.
