ED raids in Chhangur conversion case
Raids have been conducted in the case related to Chhangur Baba alias Jalaluddin conversion. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided 12 locations in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh and 2 in Mumbai. The raid started at 5.0 am on Thursday. The ED team is investigating 14 locations simultaneously. This action is said to be related to conversion and hawala transactions.
Shahzad Sheikh’s locations raided
ED teams in Mumbai, especially Shahzad Sheikh, have raided two houses. These include F Wing located at 20th floor of Kanakia Paris in Bandra East and Flat No. 502 of Rizvi Heights CHS located near LJ Road, Pitambar Lane, Gabriel Building in Mahim West.
During the raid, Shahzad Sheikh, who is present at Bandra’s residence, is questioning the ED team. It is being told that there was a transaction of about two crore rupees in the account of Shahzad Sheikh from the bank account of the accused Naveen.
Investigation of Neetu and Naveen’s bank accounts
In this case of ED conversion and hawala transactions, Chhangur’s female friend Neetu alias Nasreen and Naveen are also investigating various bank accounts. Several bank accounts of Neetu are under investigation, including accounts of Bank of India, Paytm Bank, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and SBI.
At the same time, transactions worth crores of rupees have been detected in Naveen’s several bank accounts in India, including accounts of Paytm Bank, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.
Foreign bank accounts also on ED radar
During the investigation, the documents of foreign bank accounts present in the name of Naveen Ghanshyam Rohra have also been handed over to the ED. In these accounts, Axis Bank (Vostro Account Al Nahda Aearc), SBI, NRE/NRO, HDFC Bank (Emirates NBD Bank P JSC – Vostro Account), Axis Bank (Mashreq Bank Dubai – Vostro Account) Banks include accounts of Vostro Account. Apart from this, the INR account of Al Ansari Exchange and a foreign bank account of ICICI Bank are also under the purview of ED.
