Cyber criminals are losing people every day in a new way. According to government data, more than 6,000 people in India are victims of online frauds every day. Due to this, there is a loss of hundreds of crores of rupees every year. A video is going viral on social media platform these days, in which cyber criminal tries to lime the user in the name of Amazon Cashback. However, due to its understanding, the user does not get caught in the trap of cyber criminal.

How do you cheat?

A user named @rishibagree has shared a 5 -minute video on social media platform x, in which the hacker tries to cheat Rs 8,999 in the name of cashback. The scammer asks users to conduct the account verification to give cashback. For this, a link is sent to the scammer user. After this, users are sought payment through the UPI app, where you can see Amazon written.

Cyber criminals ask the user to process it and process it. However, the user did not record the pin, showing understanding and saved himself from Fraud. In this way you may also have a call in the name of cashback, prize or discount. The number from which the scammer calls the user is a VOIP i.e. internet operated call, which starts from +115. It is not easy to trace such a VOIP number. Scammers resort to these numbers to catch themselves.

How to avoid

  • As shown in the video, you should ignore the calls coming from any international number or VOIP number.
  • If you accidentally pick up such calls, do not share any personal information with anyone.
  • Do not click on any unknown link and do not fall into the cashback or pride.
  • Report such calls, messages etc. on the government’s Chakshu portal.
