Big step in the interest of farmers, government warned this manufacturing companies
Government Has warned companies making fertilizer manufacturing (fertilizer manufacturing) that strict action will be taken to forcibly sell farmers when selling soil nutrients with urea and DAPs, while selling soil nutrients such as non-supporting products such as pesticides, nano-based crop nutrients. According to sources, the fertilizer department under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers wrote a letter to the top officials of all fertilizer companies on July 21. The letter said that the department was discovered that some non-subsidized products such as pesticides, nano fertilizers, bio-stimulating and other products are being sold to farmers by connecting with subsidized fertilizers like urea and DAP/NPK. Companies have been warned by the government not to do so.
Law of law
The department said that fertilizers are essential commodities under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and therefore, incorrectly linking other products with subsidized fertilizers will be a violation of fertilizer control order, 1985 along with this law. The department said that it is issuing counseling to discourage such practices. According to the statement, however, it has been observed that dealers and retailers of some companies also try to add non-subsidized products when selling subsidized fertilizers to farmers.
Financial burden is falling on farmers
The department said that such incorrect practices cause unfair financial burden on farmers. The department is receiving complaints, which shows that this wrong practice continues widely, and this is damaging the target of the government’s fertilizer subsidy structure. The department directed the apex management to strictly ensure that non-subsidized products for farmers should not be associated with subsidized fertilizers.
