Bihar The 5 -day monsoon session of the assembly started on Monday. On the first day of the session, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Samrat Chaudhary presented the first supplementary budget of about Rs 57,947 crore for the current financial year. After the supplementary budget was presented, Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav postponed the proceedings of the House for the day. Many important legislative and financial works will be done during the monsoon session.

Nand Kishore Yadav said that this would be the last session of the current assembly before elections in the state, and he urged both the ruling party and the opposition to cooperate for smooth action. This last assembly session of Bihar’s current government will end on 25 July. On the first day, members of the CPI (Male) Liberation, members of the India alliance demonstrated against the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar.

What is supplementary budget

The supplementary budget is different from the general budget. When a new work or new need is required after the budget is presented in a state, a supplementary budget is presented to fulfill it. For example- A state government had made a provision of Rs 500 crore in the budget for a scheme. However, after some time has passed, there is a need of Rs 300 crore for that plan, so the government presents a supplementary budget for the allocation of that additional money.

When will the assembly elections be held in Bihar

Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year. Voting can begin in different stages this year in the state this year and results can be declared in November itself. This time in Bihar, there is a competition between Prashant Kishore’s party Jansuraj with the grand alliance formed from Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and other parties with other parties.
