Bihar Nightingale Sharda Sinha merged into Panchatattva
Patna, 07 November (HS). Famous folk singer Sharda Sinha, known as ‘Bihar Kokila’, merged into Panchatatva here today. 72-year-old Sharda Sinha died on Tuesday night at the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
Sharda Sinha’s mortal remains were brought from New Delhi to her residence in Rajendra Nagar on Wednesday. This morning, he was cremated with state honors at Gulabi Ghat in the capital of Bihar. His son Anshuman lit the funeral pyre. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met the family members and consoled them.
Former Union Minister of State Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who came to pay homage, said that he had a cordial relationship with Sharda Sinha for a long time. BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav said that Sharda Sinha was the pride of the country. Today, due to his absence there is a void in the music world.
On the demise of Sharda Sinha, people from the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Samrat Choudhary and people of her in-laws, Singhma of Begusarai, have expressed grief. Due to his death, the festival of Chhath is not being celebrated in about 100 houses of Singhma village. BJP President JP Nadda will reach Patna this afternoon to pay tribute to folk singer Sharda Sinha. From the airport they will go directly to the government guest house. From there he is scheduled to go to the Chief Minister’s residence. For some time, he will participate in Chhath rituals at the house of Legislative Councilor Anil Sharma. After that, the Chief Minister will visit Chhath Ghats on the banks of Ganga in the capital along with Nitish Kumar. In the evening he will go to Sharda Sinha’s residence in Rajendra Nagar and pay his tribute to her. After that we will leave for Delhi.
