Ranchi, Jharkhand: In a statement addressing the recent announcement by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren about increasing the financial aid under the Maiya Samman Yojana to Rs 2,500, Assam Chief Minister and BJP Assembly Election Co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed skepticism about the timing of the initiative. He remarked, “If he (Hemant Soren) had to give Rs 2,500, he should have given it before the election; now he is announcing that he will give Rs 2,500 after the election. The public will decide whether they will believe in PM Modi’s guarantee or these fraudsters.”

Sarma further commented on the ongoing investigations by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), stating, “ED will do its job; ED, CBI never go to the house of a person against whom there is no complaint.” His remarks suggest a belief that the investigations are justified and rooted in valid complaints.

Regarding the BJP’s election strategy, Sarma mentioned that the recent meeting had been productive, focusing on discussions about assembly seats. He confirmed that another meeting is scheduled for the following day in Delhi, where candidates for nearly all seats will be decided, indicating the BJP’s readiness for the upcoming elections in Jharkhand.
