Boxer Kritika became Himachal’s first woman Kanwar traveler, 600 km brought Ganga water

Shimla: A state -level female boxer from Himachal Pradesh has created history by completing a 600 -km Kavad Yatra and has become the first woman in the state to do so. The boxer took Ganga water from Gaumukh to his village and performed Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
21 -year -old Kritika, a resident of Derdu village in Mandi district, made a difficult journey for the second consecutive year this year. Last year, he traveled from Haridwar to Sundernagar in Himachal Pradesh. This year, he pledged to walk on foot from Gaumukh located in Uttarakhand and test his power and devotion. He concluded his journey by performing Jalabhishek in his village’s Omkareshwar temple with Ganga water brought to Kavad.
Father going on Kavad Yatra for last 11 years
His family members said that the entire village gathered to see this moment. Kritika told that if you have determination then nothing is difficult. He said that his father has been going on a Kavad Yatra for the last 11 years, which inspired him. He said that the roads are good except for some places due to the landslide incident. He said that facilities are available for pilgrims on the way.
Kritika said that she will continue this journey in the coming years and she credited her inspiration to her father Rajendra Kumar and other family members who have been going to Kandar Yatras before.
Kritika is a second year student in college
His father, uncle and other villagers were also with this year’s visit. Kritika is a second year student of physical education at MLSM College, Sundernagar and is also a state -level boxer. In boxing, Kritika has won a silver medal three times at the school level and is also continuing boxing in the college. She wants to join the army. (With language inputs)
