The bridge over the Indrayani river collapsed at 3:30 pm on Sunday near Kundamala village of Mawal tehsil of Pune district of Maharashtra. According to officials present at the scene, 38 people are missing.
MLA Sunil Shelke said that 6 people have died so far. These include children. However, CM Fadnavis and Pune Zone 2 DCP have confirmed the death of 2 people. 6 people have been rescued.

The bridge had a capacity of about 100 people, but due to the holiday on Sunday, it had about 500 people. This became the reason for the accident.
