We are making efforts to ensure that those celebrating Chhath do not face any kind of problem. We have also discussed about the arrangements for diving at Chhath Ghats. Wherever there is a need, arrangements will be made. Regarding the arrangement of barricading, he said that this has to be done by the Panchayat at Chhath Ghat in rural areas. In the city, an effort is made in a different way.
Let us tell you that in the Chhath festival which lasts for four days, Kharna is done on the second day. It means purification. On this day, women observe Nirjala fast and prepare Prasad of Chhathi Maiya. Jaggery kheer is made in Kharna. This kheer is prepared on an earthen stove. Fasting women first eat this kheer as Prasad. After that it is distributed among the people. There is also a tradition of worshiping the Sun God on this day.
