Bumper recruitment for this post is coming in railway after 8 years
Bumper recruitment in railway: Railway Ministry will fill 60 percent posts of train controllers through direct recruitment process organized by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The ministry announced this on 25 June. According to the reforms announced by the Ministry, 60 percent of the vacancies in the control department will be filled with graduate level candidates through direct recruitment by the board.
Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity of Railway Board, told how this examination will be conducted and what will be the name of this examination, these are some issues, which are yet to be decided by the competent authority. Officials associated with the Control Department said that till 2017, the Railway Traffic Apprentice conducted by the Direct Recruitment Board in the department was done through the examination.
A railway official said that although the examination was discontinued in 2017, after which direct recruitment in the control department was closed and all the posts were filled through ‘feeder cadre’ like guards, station master and train clerk. He said that since the monetary benefits in the control department were not equal to or more than the ‘feeder cadre’, the employees elected refused to come to the department.
A controller said that this is the main reason for the shortage of talented employees in the control department, which is considered to be the brain or nerve center of the Indian Railways. However, with new reforms, now good candidates will now be directly deployed here and this will improve train operations.
According to the circular of the ministry, the remaining 40 percent of the vacancies will be recruited through limited departmental competitive examination (LDCE) or merit -based promotion quota. (Agency/Webdunia)
