The Election Commission of India has also announced the date of by -elections in 5 assembly seats in Gujarat, Kerala, Punjab and West Bengal. All these five seats will be voted on June 19. At the same time, votes will be counted on 23 June.

Please tell that by -elections are to be held in two assembly seats in Gujarat. The by -election is being held after the death of MLA Karsanbhai Punjabbhai Solanki on the Kadi seat here. Apart from this, the state’s Visavadar seat is also being submitted due to the resignation of Bhayani Bhupendrabhai Gandubhai. Talking about other states, the by -election is being held after the resignation of PV Anwar in the Nilambur seat of Kerala. At the same time, the by -election is to be held due to the death of current member Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in Ludhiana West seat of Punjab. The by -election has become necessary due to the death of current assembly member Naseeruddin Ahmed in Kaliganj assembly seat of West Bengal.
Congress will contest elections alone in Gujarat
At the same time, even before the by -election announcement, Gujarat Congress President Shakti Singh Gohil had announced that the party would contest the by -elections in Visavadar and Kadi assembly seats independently without shalinging with its India block ally Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Gohil clarified that the decision was taken unanimously after analyzing the previous electoral trends in the state. He said, “Gujaratis have never voted for the third front. There is either Congress or BJP.”

His candidature to contest the by -election was approved by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The AICC press release said, “Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal of candidature of Bharat Bhushan Ashu as a party candidate for the upcoming by-election of the Punjab Assembly from 64-Ludhiana West Constituency.” On February 26, the Aam Aadmi Party made Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora its candidate for the by -election in this seat.
