Canadian diplomat expelled from the country, ambassador also summoned news in hindi
New Delhi. Amid deteriorating political relations between India and Canada, India on Tuesday expelled a senior Canadian diplomat. They have been asked to leave the country in the next five days. Canada’s High Commissioner to India (Cameron McKay) received the summons on Tuesday. In this, the Government of India informed about its decision to expel a senior Canadian diplomat currently posted in the country. The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a statement saying that the concerned diplomat has been officially instructed to depart from India in the next five days. Apart from this, India’s Foreign Ministry has also summoned the Canadian Ambassador.
The statement said that this decision reflects the growing concern of the Government of India over the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal affairs and their involvement in anti-India activities. This decision came after Canada had earlier expelled a high-ranking Indian diplomat. This development comes after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in a statement in his Parliament on Monday, accused the Indian government of being involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Trudeau had said Canadian security agencies are actively investigating allegations of a possible connection between the killing of Khalistan Tiger Force chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in June and Indian government agents. India has rejected the claims of the Canadian government that it is involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, called it absurd and said, “We have seen the statement made by the Canadian Prime Minister in his Parliament and the statement made by his Foreign Minister and we reject them.” Allegations of Indian government involvement in any act of violence in Canada is absurd.
