Canadian PM Mark Carney made this Indian his foreign minister

Toronto: The new Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, announced a major reshuffle in his cabinet on Tuesday, in which he has named Indian origin Anita Anand as his new Foreign Minister. He made this announcement during the formation of a new renovated Liberal government. Earlier this year, Karney, who replaced Justin Trudeau and won the election last month, appointed Anand as the Foreign Minister. He replaced Melanie Jolie, who became the Minister of Industry. India and Canada have increased the expectations of improvement in relations with the nomination of Indian origin as Foreign Minister.

During the trade war between Canada and the United States, the Frameshwa-Filip Champagne has retained his post as Finance Minister, while Dominic Labcles remains the US trade minister. PM Carney said, “Canadian people have chosen this new government with a strong mandate, so that they can establish a new economic and security relationship with the United States and create a strong economy for all Canadians.” Carney said that when Parliament starts again on 27 May, King Charles III would give speeches underlining the priorities of the Canadian government. Charles is the head of the state in Canada, a member of the British Commonwealth of former colonies. Carney has emphasized on Canadian founding nations, the United Kingdom and France, and said that the old relationship with the US based on ever increasing integration is over.

10 old ministers chopped leaf in the new cabinet

More than 10 people were removed from this new cabinet of PM Carney, including former Defense Minister Bill Blair. David McGinti moved to defense from public safety. Carney appointed Goldman Sachs Canada former CEO Tim Hodgson as the Natural Resource Minister. Carney, who works for 14 years in Goldman Sachs, has said that he wants to make Canada energy “superpower” and prioritize the big, “nation building” projects. Former journalist Ivan Solomon is one of the new ministers, who holds the new position of Artificial Intelligence Minister. There are half women in Trudeau’s cabinet. Carney said that the new cabinet is designed to bring changes according to the wishes and needs of the people of Canada. The Liberal government is in its fourth term. (AP)
