Chandrababu Naidu granted 4 weeks bail in skill development case
Andhra Pradesh High Court this morning granted interim bail to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development Scam. He has been granted interim bail for four weeks on medical grounds. Chandrababu Naidu’s lawyers told the court that he would have to undergo cataract surgery, and despite his suffering, he would have to go to the hospital for it. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the skill development scam case, in which there was controversy over his role. The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ordered his interim bail, and Chandrababu Naidu is expected to be released this evening.
Andhra Pradesh High Court today ordered the release of Chandrababu Naidu on bail, but despite the bail, he has been banned from talking to the media and participating in campaign events. The court has fixed November 10 as the date for the regular bail petition. Last month, on September 9, Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in an alleged ₹371 crore scam involving the Skill Development Corporation. After this incident he was jailed by the authorities. The conflicting information surrounding the incident sparked political turmoil in the state and led to violent clashes between TDP supporters and the police. TDP leaders condemned Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and his government over Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest.
