Dehri on Son. On the third day of Chhath, the great festival of faith, in the Son coastal city of Dehri on Son in Rohtas district, the devotees offered prayers to the setting sun on Thursday evening on the banks of Son river and various ghats of the Western Connective Canal. The city resonated with Chhath songs. The process of devotees going to Chhath ghats started from 2 pm. Many fasting people reached the ghat to fulfill their wishes. There was a huge crowd of people to offer prayers on the banks of various ghats of Son. A wonderful sight of Chhath was seen on the banks of river Son. As the time of offering Ardha was approaching, the queues of devotees were increasing. The family members looked very excited at the festival. Before the sun sets, the devotees start offering ardhya and return to their homes. From the street to the ghat, the archway and the statue of Lord Surya remained the center of attraction. A lot of enthusiasm was seen among the children at the ghat. The people of Juhu, Mumbai enjoyed seeing them on the Son’s sand. Children bought toys on the Son’s sand and enjoyed chaat. The same big Chinese were seen waiting for the Arghya carrying almonds. In the Son river at Anicut.

Shahabad area DIG Naveen Chandra Jha offered Arghya to an employee of his Parivar Sangh office. SDRF team was seen deployed in Son and Canal. Crowd control and traffic system were also seen fine. Better arrangement for parking of vehicles was seen in front of Maidan ITI near Anicut Ghat. Divers were also deployed. The team of divers was led by Awadhesh Chaudhary. Security arrangements were visible on Chhath. District police personnel continued patrolling from the road to the ghat for security. SP Roshan Kumar, SDM Surya Pratap Singh, A SP Kota Kiran Kumar, Police Station Head Shivendra Kumar, NP EO Sujit Kumar inspected the ghats on foot. Various organizations continued to serve the devotees. Chief guest, former MLA Satyanarayan Singh, on behalf of the Seva Samiti located at Maa Lakh Pati Park, Anicut, honored many senior people of the city including the police station chief and NP EO by giving them corsets. Lalan Singh, Prakash Goswami, Paramhans Singh were present on the occasion.
