Lagaan (2001) is a historical and highly appreciated Indian sports drama film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and Aamir Khan produced under his banner Aamir Khan Productions. The film stars Aamir Khan, Gracie Singh, Rechhel Shelley and Paul Blackthorn in important roles.
This story is from a small village in British -ruled India, where the villagers challenge a cricket match against the tax (Lagaan) levied to the British officers, a sport that they are completely unaware of.
Talking about Aamir Khan’s work front, he will soon be seen in the star land on the ground, which is a spiritual sequel to his beloved film Taare Zameen. The film is made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and is scheduled to release on 20 June 2025.
