Explosion in Pakistan (symbolic photo)
Peshawar: Two children died in a mortar blast while going to a madrasa on Tuesday in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Local sources have given information about the blast. Sources said the dead, Arafat and Aamir, were about six to seven years old. The incident took place in the Gomal Bazar Police Station area of Tank district of northwest Pakistan.
What did the local resident tell?
Mehsud, a resident of local resident Raghaja village, said that when the explosion occurred, the children were taking tea for their Maulana in the madrasa. The bodies of the victims were taken to the district headquarters hospital at the tank. Officials have started investigating the incident. No group has taken responsibility for the explosion yet.
There have been explosions before
There have been such explosions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province earlier. Four government officials, including an assistant commissioner, were killed and 11 others were injured in the recent bomb blast. The blast took place near the fair ground in Khar tehsil in Bajaur, a tribal district bordering Afghanistan.
