India China Relations: A period of positive changes in relations between India and China has started and now its signs are also visible. Beijing has assured India to restore fertilizer, rare meaning material and tunnel boring machines. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on a 2 -day visit to India and during this time he has given this assurance during a meeting with India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar raised the issue of supply of urea, NPK and DAP, rare soil minerals and TBM with Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his visit to China last month.
‘Stress is emphasized on the process of reducing stress’
During the meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, S Jaishankar said that India and China should adopt a clear and creative approach to carry forward relations that are based on mutual respect, sensitivity and mutual interests. In a meeting with Wang, the Foreign Minister insisted on furthering the process of reducing tension in the border areas near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in East Ladakh. The region has been dead for more than four years between the forces of the two countries.
Jaishankar clears India’s stand
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar clarified during the talks that there has been no change in India’s attitude on Taiwan and like the world, India will also maintain diplomatic presence for economic and cultural relations. Both sides agreed that they need to get closer due to the current policies of Washington.
Why is Wang Yi’s visit to India important?
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is taking place a few days before the proposed visit to China to attend the annual summit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). After the struggle in the Galwan Valley in 2020, there was serious tension in India-China relations. In view of this, the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister is being seen as part of the efforts to improve relations by both neighboring countries.
