New Delhi: Chinese Ambassador Shu Fihong, advocating strong friendship and cooperation with India, termed the heavy tariff imposed on India on behalf of the US as ‘hooliganism’. He said that the US imposed a tariff of up to 50% on India and threatened to increase it even more, which China strongly opposed. Fihong said, ‘America has taken advantage of free trade for a long time, but now it is using tariffs as a weapon. Being silent will give further boost to this hooliganism. China stands firmly with India.

‘India-China unity is essential for the world’

The Chinese ambassador said at an event in New Delhi on Thursday that unity and cooperation between two big neighboring countries like India and China is the way of development. He said, ‘Both of us are two engines in Asia. Our friendship is beneficial not only for us, but for the whole of Asia and the world. India and China should increase mutual confidence and resolve differences through dialogue. We are not rival but partners. ‘

‘Indian goods will be promoted in China’

Fihong promised to give Indian goods more space in the Chinese market. He said, ‘We will welcome Indian goods to our market further. India has strength in IT, software and biomedicine, while China is growing rapidly in electronics, infrastructure and new energy. Talking about the global situation, the Chinese Ambassador said that the world is going through a major change at this time. He said, ‘The biggest change in the international system after World War II is taking place. In such a situation, the cooperation of India and China becomes even more important. We have to take responsibility to promote a uniform and systematic multi -polar world.

Emphasis on increasing contact between people

Fihong also spoke of promoting mutual contact between the two countries. He said, “China has resumed the journey to the holy mountain Kailash and Lake for Indian pilgrims, and India has also resumed tourist visas for Chinese citizens.” This step is a major step towards strengthening cultural and public relations between the two countries. The Chinese ambassador described friendship and cooperation between India and China as essential for global stability. He said that both countries should resolve differences through mutual trust and negotiations.
