China said on Monday that its border dispute with India is a complex issue. He said it would take time to resolve it, but China also expressed its desire to continue the discussion on the determination of borders and maintain peace in the border areas. The statement came in response to the proposal of India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Dong June in Kingdao on 26 June and resume the existing border assessment system.
Establishment of Special Representative Mantras: Mao Ning
Rajnath Singh and Dong June held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, which stressed the Line of Real Control (LAC) to maintain peace and stability. When asked about Singh’s response to Singh’s comment, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said, “I can tell you that China and India have established a special representative mechanism on the subject related to the border and agreed to political parameters and guiding principles to resolve the Chinese-India border issues.” He said that there are diplomatic and military communication mechanisms at various levels between the two sides.
“Border question is complex, it takes time to solve”
Ning said, “China is ready to maintain dialogue on issues including borders and border management with India, maintain peace and stability in border areas, to promote border exchange and cooperation.” Asked about the delay in resolving the Seema issue despite a special representative level 23 round of talks, Ning said, “Seema’s question is complex and it takes time to solve it.” He said, “The positive side is that the two countries have already established mechanisms at various levels for intensive dialogue. We hope that India will work in this direction with China, will continue dialogue on relevant issues and maintain peace and stability in the border areas.”
Consent was made on ending military deadlock
The 23rd meeting as special representatives was held between National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in December last year. This was the first meeting of special representatives after a confrontation in the western region of Indo-China border areas in 2020. According to a statement issued by India, in a meeting with Dong, Singh emphasized the need to establish a “good neighborhood circumstances” for the best mutual benefit and called for “action at the ground level” to overcome the “lack of trust” resulting as a result of the deadlock in East Ladakh in 2020. India and China agreed in October last year to end the military deadlock over LAC in East Ladakh, followed by a meeting of Singh and Dong amidst efforts to re -establish the relations between New Delhi and Beijing.
