The 24th meeting of special representatives on the China-India border issue has been held in Delhi. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval held a broad, intensive and useful discussion on the China-India border issues and bilateral relations. Wang Yi said that the important consent of President Xi Jinping during the meeting with Prime Minister Modi in Kazan has paved the way and encouraged the China-India relations to improve the China-India relations and settled the border issue properly. Next meeting will be held in China

It is necessary to increase mutual understanding, deepen confidence and strengthen cooperation, as it is very important for the good and world peace and development of the people of both countries.

‘PM Modi will go to China’

Ajit Doval said, “Our Prime Minister will visit China for the SCO Summit and hence the dialogue has special significance.” He said during talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that Prime Minister will go to China to attend the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO). This is the first official confirmation of Modi’s Chinese city Tianjin Yatra to attend the summit on 31 August and 1 September.

Improvement in India-China relations

Wang’s visit is seen as part of the ongoing efforts by both neighboring countries to restore their relations, which led to serious tension in 2020 after the Galwan Valley clashes. NSA Doval visited China in December last year and had special representative level talks with Wang. Over the last few months, both sides have taken several initiatives to restore the relationship, including re -starting the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and the release of tourist visas by India to Chinese citizens.
