Beijing, October 18 (IANS). The Chinese Navy’s “Peace Ark” medical ship arrived at Cotonou Port carrying out the mission “Harmony Mission-2024”. It began a seven-day goodwill visit to Benin to provide medical services. This is the first time the “Peace Ark” has visited Benin.
At 10 am on October 17, as the first Chinese naval ship to visit Benin after the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Benin, the “Peace Ark” slowly arrived at the dock.
Benin held a grand welcome ceremony at the dock to warmly welcome the visit of the hospital ship “Peace Ark”. Benin military and political officials, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Benin, as well as local people, overseas Chinese and representatives of Chinese-funded institutions welcomed him at the dock.
It is noteworthy that the hospital ship “Peace Ark” will provide medical services using the main platform and send inspection teams to local youth centers and universities to conduct inspections. In addition, Benin military doctors who have been to China for training will board the ship for a visit and in-depth exchanges with Chinese medical experts.
