Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has once again launched a scathing attack on the government and administration of Bihar. He said that there is nothing called law and order in the state. Criminals are openly carrying out incidents and they have become completely unbridled with the connivance of the police-administration. This statement of Chirag may make the ruling uncomfortable, while the opposition may get some relief from it.

Serious allegations on police: Criminals protection in lieu of bribery

Chirag Paswan clearly stated that policemen save them by taking money from criminals in police stations. He claimed that no improvement in law and order of Bihar is possible until action is taken on the big officials involved in corruption. Chirag made this statement in Pirapur village under Goraul block of Vaishali district, where he came to meet the family of Sanjana Bharti.

Sanjana scandal: a daughter, a family and a careless system

Significantly, 17 -year -old Sanjana Bharti, a resident of Pirapur village, suddenly disappeared on 27 May. The family pleaded from the police station to the SP office in search of him, but the police neither registered an FIR nor took any concrete action. About 43 days later, his body was buried under the ground in a deserted area of the village.

This horrific incident caused sensation throughout the area. Despite repeated complaints on behalf of the victim’s family, the local Goraul and Bhagwanpur police station had not registered a case till the dead body was found. It was only after the matter was exposed in the media that the SP suspended both the police stations.

The accused are still out of arrest

Chirag Paswan questioned the administration that when the accused are still absconding even after the case is exposed, should it not be considered a failure of the police? He also alleged that the police had met the accused party and the victim’s family is being pressurized to withdraw the case. Expressing deep concern over this, he demanded security to the victim’s family.

Opposition gets issue, increased pressure on government

This statement of Chirag Paswan will give the opposition parties a chance to attack the government, while this statement can prove to be a major setback for the ruling party. Especially when this comment has come from a Union Minister, who himself is part of the NDA alliance.
