Chitrakoot link expressway: Several major decisions were taken in an important cabinet meeting chaired by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. In this meeting of the cabinet, 37 out of a total of 38 proposals were approved, including a proposal to develop Chitrakoot Link Expressway. The Yogi government has approved the plan to construct a 15.17 km long link expressway on the Varanasi-Banda route. This expressway will be of 4 lane, which can be increased to 6 lanes later when needed. This Chitrakoot Link Expressway will be ready in 548 days and will be connected to the Bundelkhand Expressway.

Chitrakoot Link Expressway to be built at a cost of Rs 939.67 crore

Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has prepared a complete plan for Chitrakoot Link Expressway. The link expressway will start near the Bharatkup of District Chitrakoot on the Km 267 of National Highway 35/76 on the Varanasi-Banda route and will end at Ahmadganj village in Chitrakoot on National Highway 135BG. The Chitrakoot Link Expressway will be constructed by engineering, prochemrant and construction (EPC) method, which is an estimated cost of Rs 939.67 crore. This proposal does not include any kind of participation of the Central Government.

Chitrakoot will be easy and convenient to reach

After getting the approval, tenders will be issued on the basis of EPC as soon as possible to start this project. One of the construction companies joining the tender will be selected. The company will be given 548 days time for the construction of this link expressway. The construction company will also be entrusted with the responsibility of maintenance for 5 years after the construction work of the expressway is over. Due to the construction of expressway from the initial point of Bundelkhand to Chitrakoot Dham, the tourism sector will develop at a fast pace and will provide easy and intense traffic facilities to tourists coming from remote areas.
