BJP is also in control of Chomu assembly seat of Jaipur Rural. Congress has not announced its candidate from Chomu seat for this election, while BJP has again fielded MLA Ram Lal Sharma.

Bharatiya Janata Party has again made Ramlal Sharma its candidate this time. Ramlal Sharma is contesting the election for MLA for the fourth time. Started his political career from student union politics. Apart from this, he has been associated with BJP and its organizations. District Chief in ABVP from 1995 to 2000, District Minister of VHP from 2000 to 2001, General Secretary of Students Union in Rajasthan University from 2000 to 2001, District Rural Vice President of BJYM from 2001 to 2003, Bajrang Dal District Convener from 2002 to 2003, Since 2005 He held the post of State President of BJYM till 2006. Apart from this, BJP had made him its candidate in the year 2003. He was victorious in that election by 4294 votes. After trailing by 135 votes in the 2008 elections, he again won in 2013 by 44473 votes.

Talking about the election results of Chomu assembly seat in the 2018 elections, there were 15 candidates in the fray, but here the contest became triangular. BJP’s Ram Lal Sharma secured 70,183 votes. So Bhagwan Sahay Saini of Congress got 68,895 votes. Chuttan Lal Yadav of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party made the election exciting by securing 39,042 votes. Ramlal Sharma won the election by a margin of just 1,288 (0.7%) votes. In the then elections, the total number of voters in Chomu assembly seat was 2,16,358, out of which the number of male voters was 1,12,957 and the number of female voters was 1,03,401. Out of this, a total of 1,84,543 (86.2%) voters cast their votes. In the election, 1,859 (0.9%) votes were cast in favor of NOTA. This assembly seat falls in the Lok Sabha constituency of Sikar.

How was the political history?

If we talk about the political history of Chomu assembly seat, it has been held by BJP for 10 consecutive years. For the last 20 years there has been a tough competition between Ramlal Sharma and Bhagwan Sahay Saini. Ramlal Sharma became MLA for the first time in the 2003 elections. Whereas Bhagwan Sahay Saini was elected MLA in the 1998 elections. In the 2008 elections, BJP candidate Ramlal Sharma lost by a margin of just 135 votes and then Bhagwan Saini was victorious. But after that, in 2013 and 2018, Ramlal Sharma has been winning continuously as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. Yadav and Jat voters have more dominance in Chomu assembly seat. In the last election, the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party candidate got 39,042 votes. In such a situation, this time also there are chances of tough competition here.
