Dhanush made a tremendous entry into Bollywood in 2013 with ‘Ranjhana’. Sonam Kapoor was seen in the lead role in this film with him and both were well liked. Apart from Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, actors like Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar and Zeeshan Job, besides Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, were also seen in Ranjhana directed by Anand L. Rai and the film proved to be successful at the box office. Recently the film was re -locked, but with a big twist. Through AI, the climax of the film was changed to release it again, which has disappointed the film’s director Anand L. Rai and Hero Dhanush. Dhanush recently expressed displeasure over the climax in exchange for the film through social media.
Dhanush angry over the change in the climax of Raanjhana
Dhanush shared a post on X (East Twitter), in which he expressed disappointment on changing the climax of Raanjhana through AI and also made great predictions. In his post, Dhanush wrote- ‘Raanjhana’ has been completely disturbed by AI’s al-relief with the changed climax of AI. This new climax has taken away the soul of the film. The concerned parties did this despite my clear objection.
AI is a threat to the legacy of cinema
Dhanush in his post made a big prediction about AI and described a threat to the legacy of the film and further wrote- ‘This is not the film for which I agreed 12 years ago. The use of AI for changes in films or content is a great concern for both art and artists. This is a big threat to the art of storytelling and the legacy of cinema. I sincerely hope that strict rules will be made to prevent such works in future.
Anand L. Rai also objected
Earlier, the film’s director Anand L Rai also shared a long wide post and expressed displeasure over the change of climax of the film. He wrote that the last few days were very disturbing for him, as the climax of his film ‘Raanjhana’ was changed against him without asking him, and it was re-rested with changed climax. It is like watching your film being ruined for any director. The thing that makes it worse is that all this was done very comfortably.
