Islamabad: The relations between Pakistan and Russia are seen to be strong. Both countries have agreed to cooperate to build rail and road networks. According to a news, the purpose of consent is to connect Pakistan with Central Asia and Russia. For this, it is necessary to establish strong rail and road connectivity. Abdul Alim Khan, a minister in the Government of Pakistan and Russia’s Transport Deputy Minister Andre Sergeevich Nikitin agreed to this.
‘Pakistan’s role will be big’
The decision has been taken on the occasion of the Ministerial Conference of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tianjhin, China. Along with this, it has also been agreed to accelerate the development of infrastructure in the entire region to facilitate trade and economic integration. According to the news of ‘Jio News’, the purpose of this initiative is to increase trade corridors and logistics routes to Russia and Central Asia, which will play a major role of Pakistan.
‘Pakistan is making changes in transport structure’
Highlighting the modernization efforts of his country, Abdul Alim Khan, a minister in the Government of Pakistan, said that the country is digitizing its transport infrastructure. He said that obstacle-free roadways, compulsory e-tagging and comprehensive CCTV monitoring are being started. These reforms are part of Pakistan’s broad target of regional contact and border crossing trade.

‘Important is cooperation between Pakistan and Russia’
Russia’s Transport Deputy Minister Nikitin acknowledged the importance of cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in changing regional trade dynamics. Nikitin also confirmed Russia’s commitment to pursue joint transport and infrastructure projects with Islamabad.

Meanwhile, let us also know that Pakistan and Afghanistan had agreed to carry forward the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) rail project last month, which is an important step towards regional contact. Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Mutki agreed to work together to finalize the agreement. (Language)
