Cloud burst at 3 places in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir: 7 people died
In Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, clouds are cracked on Sunday morning. This is the second incident of cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 3 days. Today, in Kathua district, clouds exploded 3 places in the area adjacent to the border.
7 people died and many were injured in Jod Valley area. Apart from Jod, there was also landslide in Mathre Chak, Bard-Chanra and Dilwan-Hutli. On August 14, a similar incident took place in Kishtwar in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir.
After Landslide, Jod village had lost contact with the city, after much effort, the rescue team reached the village. The houses are filled with water and use for several feet. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
Kathua Deputy SP Rajesh Sharma said- 2 to 3 houses have been damaged in Landslide. 6 people are reported to be stranded. Roads have been damaged at many places on the National Highway including Janglot. The railway track is also interrupted.
In Himachal Pradesh, there was no havoc in monsoon rains. Clouds erupted in Takoli in Kullu around 4 am today. Panarasa, Nagwai of Kullu is also scattered all around after the flash flood.
Possibility of heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir till 17-19 August
At the same time, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir till 17-19 August. There are also warnings of cloudburst and landslide in 11 districts Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and parts of Kashmir.
Himachal Pradesh: Flash flood in cloud phat-mandi in Kullu; Chandigarh-Manali Fourlane closed
Clouds erupted in Shalanala in Kullu around 4 am on Sunday morning. This has caused heavy losses in many areas of Kullu and Mandi. Debris came due to flood on Takoli vegetable and Takoli forelane. More than 10 houses have been damaged in different areas of Kullu-Mandi. Many houses have filled debris inside.
Floods in Shalanal Khad broke the wall of the Facon Company’s office and colony. Here the employees escaped and saved their lives, the houses of the local people also suffered a lot of damage. More than 10 trains have also suffered damage in Takoli, Panarasa and Nagwai.
Chandigarh-Manali Fourlane Mandi and Kullu have been closed everywhere. There is also reported loss from flash flood in rebel Parashar in Mandi district. According to the Meteorological Department, today there is rain alert in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur. So far 261 people have died in this monsoon season in the state.
