Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is closely monitoring the disaster in Dhali.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately canceled all his programs after a huge loss in Dharli in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand and returned to Dehradun directly from Tirupati. The Chief Minister took detailed information about the ongoing relief and rescue operations from the State Disaster Operations Center. Please tell that many houses were damaged in this disaster and 10 people lost their lives. Chief Minister Dhami immediately took action in view of the seriousness of the situation.

‘Constantly in touch with senior officials’

Giving information about the disaster, Dhami tweeted and said, ‘The news of heavy losses caused by cloudburst in Dharali (Uttarkashi) area is extremely sad and painful. SDRF, NDRF, district administration and other related teams are engaged on war footing for relief and rescue operations. In this regard, I am constantly in touch with senior officials and the situation is being monitored in depth. I pray to God for everyone to be safe.

‘People are being transported to safe places’

Dhami said in another tweet, ‘Teams of district administration, Indian Army, NDRF and SDRF are engaged in relief and rescue operations in the affected areas of Dharali (Uttarkashi). On priority basis, people are being transported to safe places and the situation is constantly being monitored. The administration is completely cautious and all possible assistance is being provided to the affected citizens.

Amit Shah talked to Dhami on the phone

The central government is also standing with Uttarakhand in this disaster. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Chief Minister Dhami on the phone on Tuesday and inquired about the cloudburst in Dharli. Shah ordered relief and rescue teams to be immediately sent to the affected area. He tweeted, ‘Took information about the flood from the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from the cloudburst in Dharali (Uttarkashi). Three ITBP teams posted nearby have been sent on the spot, while four NDRF teams will also reach the rescue operations soon.

There is an important stop in the way of Gangotri

Please tell that there is a major stop on the way of Dharali, Gangotri, where there are many hotels, restaurants and homestands. The cloudburst caused a sudden flood in the area, causing many houses to waste or damaged. Chief Minister Dhami’s return to Dehradun and the visit to the Disaster Operations Center is an indication that the state government is fully active to deal with this crisis. Dhami has instructed the officials to provide immediate assistance to the affected people and do not take any negligence.
