A large amount of intoxicating substance has been seized in an air port of the country. The Finance Ministry said on Saturday that DRI officials seized more than four kilograms of cocaine worth Rs 40 crore at Bengaluru International Airport. A passenger was also arrested in this regard.

Cocaine packets between two comics

Officials of the Bangalore Regional Unit of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) stopped an Indian male passenger from Doha to Bangalore International Airport on 18 July. The ministry said the passenger had two superhero comics/ magazines, which were unusually heavy.

40 crores is price

The authorities then recovered the white powder hidden in the cover of magazines. The ministry said, ‘Cocaine was found in powder. The recovered cocaine weighs 4,006 grams (more than four kilograms) and its international market price is around Rs 40 crore, which was seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

Police interrogated accused

The passenger was then arrested. On July 18, 2025, he was sent to judicial custody. The police team is questioning the accused passenger. It is being ascertained that no gang is working behind it. (With language input)
