Compensation for crop loss will be available before Diwali

Diwali festival is about to come. To double the happiness of the farmers, the state government has decided to provide compensation to the farmers for crop loss. Regarding this, instructions have been given to the officials to give the compensation amount to the farmers as soon as possible. The government has asked to ensure that no farmer is deprived of the compensation amount. In such a situation, the compensation amount will be distributed to all the eligible farmers of the state before Diwali. This year, due to excessive rains and floods, farmers’ crops have suffered a lot of damage. In view of this, the state government is compensating their losses. Compensation amount is being distributed to the farmers of the state. All possible help is being provided to the farmers of flood affected areas. During the review meeting, Special Special Secretary of Agriculture Department, Virendra Prasad Yadav said that due to the floods in the first phase, the state Crops have been damaged in 16 districts.

Crops damaged in 18 districts due to floods

In the second phase, crops were damaged in 18 districts due to floods, hence the department has estimated crop damage at Rs 229 crore for the first phase and Rs 261 crore for the second phase. He said that for the first phase, an amount of Rs 279 crore for crop damage has been received from the department. If you are a farmer of Bihar and your crop has suffered heavy damage due to flood, then you will be provided compensation for crop loss because the Bihar government has announced to provide compensation for crop loss to the farmers. In this regard, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed the officials to provide the amount of crop damage to the farmers before Diwali. He said that the government is determined to provide all possible assistance to the people of the flood affected areas. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that no farmer should be left out from getting the amount for crop damage.

How much damage was caused by floods in Bihar?

All those farmers whose crops were damaged during the flood must get the amount. For this, the Agriculture Department should work quickly. According to media reports, according to preliminary estimates, crops were damaged in about 224593 hectares of area in 673 panchayats affected by block wards of 19 districts. Apart from this, there is estimated to be more than 33 percent damage to the crop in 91,817 hectares. Due to the same flood, banana crops were damaged the most in Saraipur, Tersia and surrounding Diara areas of Karanpura, Radhopur, Hajipur. According to the survey report of the department, banana crops grown in 534 acres in the above flood affected blocks suffered huge damage.

How much financial assistance did the flood affected families receive?

The Chief Minister has sent assistance directly to the accounts of about 3.21 lakh families of 18 districts affected by the second phase of floods in the state through DBT. For this, a total relief amount of Rs 225.25 crore has been released at the rate of Rs 7 thousand per family. In the first phase, Rs 306.97 crore has been transferred by the Chief Minister to the accounts of 4 lakh 38 thousand 529 families. In the second phase, an amount of Rs 225.25 crore has been sent to the accounts of 3 lakh 21 thousand 792 families. In this way, a total amount of Rs 532.22 crore has been transferred to the accounts of 7 lakh 60 thousand 321 families.

Compensation amount of Rs 163.151 crore released to farmers of 34 districts in UP

Along with Bihar, the UP government has also given compensation amounting to Rs 163.151 crore to more than three lakh farmers for crop loss due to floods. This amount has been released as compensation to 3,12,866 farmers affected by floods in UP. In this, the highest compensation amount of more than Rs 70 crore has been released to more than 1.10 lakh farmers. According to Relief Commissioner Bhanuchandra Goswami, on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a survey of crop loss in the flood affected areas of the state was conducted in which 110989.26 hectares of crops in 34 districts were affected. According to the Relief Commissioner, crops of 3,71,370 farmers were affected by the flood, in lieu of which compensation of Rs 163.151 crore has been given to 3,12,866 farmers so far.
