Crores across the country There is good news for railway passengers. They are going to get relief from the problem of not getting confirmed tickets in immediate booking. Actually, the Railways has decided to implement Aadhar Verification from July 1. After this, only Aadhaar certified users will be able to book train tickets immediately. The Ministry of Railways issued a instruction to all railway zones on June 10, 2025, stating that the purpose of implementing this rule is to ensure that the common people get immediate benefits of the scheme. Experts say that this step will make it easier to get confirmed tickets. At the same time, blackmailing of tickets will be banned by the broker.

Aadhaar-based OTP will apply

Under immediate booking, only Aadhaar certified users can book the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website/its app. In addition, the Ministry has determined that from July 15, 2025, passengers will have to complete an additional base-based OTP authentication phase for immediate booking.

Where will the ticket booking be done

From July 1, 2025, under the immediate booking of Indian Railways, the train ticket will be able to book only through the IRCTC website or its mobile application. Only those passengers will be able to book Tatkal tickets which would have been the basis of verification. Additionally, to book tickets from July 15, 2025, Aadhaar-Linked OTP will have to undergo verification process.

Agent’s window will open after 30 minutes

The window of ticketing agents will open after 30 minutes. For AC categories will be applicable from 10.00 am to 10.30 am and non-AC from 11.00 am to 11.30 am. The Ministry has directed the Railway Information System Center (CRIS) and IRCTC to make necessary amendments in the system and inform all the zonal railways about these changes.
