Congress expressed fear of ED raid in Madhya Pradesh, targeted BJP – Congress expressed fear of ED raid in Madhya Pradesh and targeted BJP
Congress on Thursday expressed apprehension that after Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids may be conducted on people associated with the party in Madhya Pradesh too, where voting for the assembly elections is to be held on November 17. Congress said this while accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using constitutional institutions as “election weapons”.
Congress national spokesperson Alka Lamba said at Indore Press Club, “ED has reached Rajasthan during the current assembly elections. ED work is already going on in Chhattisgarh. Now ED is welcome in Madhya Pradesh also and we are ready to defeat BJP as well as ED in this state.
He said, “We absolutely know that raids are going to be conducted against us in Madhya Pradesh also. ED itself is making BJP contest elections.” Lamba said that BJP is allegedly using ED as well as Income Tax Department, CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and other constitutional institutions as election weapons against its opposition parties. .
He also expressed apprehension that during the scrutiny of nomination papers filed by Congress candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, these candidates could be “confused” by creating obstacles. Congress has not joined hands with Samajwadi Party (SP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, while these three opposition parties are included in the ‘India’ alliance.
On the questions being raised in this regard, Lamba said that the ‘India’ alliance has been formed not for the state assembly elections, but for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
He said, “As far as Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections are concerned, Congress has a direct contest with BJP here. SP, AAP and all other constituent parties of ‘India’ alliance have complete democratic freedom to contest the state assembly elections on their own.
The Congress spokesperson also said that everyone is eagerly waiting for the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in the temple taking shape at his birthplace in Ayodhya on January 22 next year, but BJP is trying to destroy this place associated with the faith of crores of people. Trying to create a political arena. Lamba said that the country’s current President Draupadi Murmu and former President Ramnath Kovind should also be invited on this occasion of Pran Pratistha.
