The Kerala Congress has suspended MLA from Palakkad Rahul Mamkutathil. He has been facing serious allegations of sexual exploitation. After these allegations, he resigned as the President of Kerala Youth Congress. However, he was in the post of party and MLA. Opposition parties were constantly demanding their resignation. In such a situation, voices against Rahal started raising inside the part. On Sunday, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief Sunny Joseph and senior party leader K Muralitharan had said that after consultation between senior leaders, a proper decision would be taken in Rahul’s case. Now action has been taken against him.

Joseph had said that he and the Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly will talk to other senior leaders of the VD Satishan Party and everyone’s opinion will be taken before taking appropriate decisions at the right time. He told reporters, “When we reach any such decision, its official information will be given.” Muralitharan also said that some audio clips “recently came up in connection with the allegations against the MLA from Palakkad make the case more serious”.

There was protest inside the party

Only the leaders of Kerala Congress were raising their voice against Rahul. The audio clip of alleged conversation between Mamkutathil and a woman was broadcast on TV channels. After this, Muralitharan had said that the party will take any action. This will happen soon. Later, Congress General Secretary and MP from Alappuzha KC Venugopal also expressed similar opinion and said that this is a serious issue and the party will soon decide on it. He had said that the party took action in 24 hours of the matter came to light and ensured that Mamkutathil Youth should resign from the post of state president of the Congress.

Usa Thomas said about resignation

Venugopal had said that senior party leaders in Kerala are seriously considering the matter and a decision will be taken soon. Uma Thomas, wife and party MLA of late Congress leader PT Thomas, had said that Mamkutathil should resign from the post of MLA. He also said that if the allegations were wrong, Mamkutathil should have immediately filed a defamation suit. Thomas said, “But it was not done. The silence is not right. ”According to the reports, Satishan and senior party leader Ramesh Chennitla are in favor of Mamkutathil’s resignation.

Satishan had given indications earlier

Satishan had said a day earlier that the party is taking this issue with “very seriousness” and will take action if needed. Mamkutathil is facing the party’s internal investigation after actress Rini N. George accused a political party of abusing the “youth leader” of abuse and was followed by BJP and DYFI.
